My papaw and I after his baptism today. Tears of joy. =)
Brother Tim is the pastor that baptized me too. There is no man as humble! He is truly special to my family. God used his ministry to bring myself, my grandfather and so many of us to Christ.
Praise GOD!
Watching "Papaw Pete" {the name Kennedy has renamed my Papaw Ted} go swimming. She was fascinated.
Wyatt was busy being passed around. Quite the social butterfly! I think he was pretty content with his Aunt Madison.
Brother Tim helping my Granny stand to hug my papaw. She is a stroke victim and has been left crippled. Such a special hug!
They both just cried. Truly humbling to see your grandparents stand in awe of God's grace.
Tears filled my grandfather's eyes as he thanked his church. He could hardly speak. I love my Aunt Kim's face. I think everyone in that room could feel the Holy Spirit.
My mom hugging her dad.
And then there's a rotten one in the mix. Miss Kennedy soaking in attention. ;)
She really did so good for staying in the service. I know she will NEVER remember today, but as I held her and thought of BOTH of my babies... I prayed that in their lifetime, God would allow them to feel Jesus the way I have experienced His love and grace today.
Goodness what joy I felt. Thank you Jesus.
So what God has shown me: Don't ever underestimate the power of God. He can use the unusable. You can plant the seeds of Christ and see nothing, however, like a child, growth by Him is inevitable. Even when we can't see it...it's happening. God can grow a flower in a desert and a garden during a drought.
God saved me despite my sin.
He convicted me despite my selfishness.
He used me despite my disobedience.
He taught me despite my unworthiness.
He answered my prayer because He loves me.
And when it's all said and done... when you stop doubting and begin trusting as you wait... in HIS perfect time, you will reap a harvest of blessings far greater than you could imagine or deserve. And when that day comes, you will never forget it.
Thank. You. Jesus.

What an amazing post! Thanks for sharing... I'm sure I'm not going to be the only one to read this and cry.
This makes me cry...incredible. Absolutely incredible. So thankful the Lord works in ways that are bigger than we are!
Oh Britney! I am in tears over here! I read your story on your Grandpa a while ago and I've been thinking of y'all since. I am so overjoyed at this!!!
So happy for him! Love this post!
this is a great post!! How special that day was for you and your family!
God is so good, what a sweet, sweet story!
This is so neat and gives me so much hope. My husband was raised Mormon and I pray every day that he will know Christ in a real, personal way and one day be baptized as a Christian as well. Congratulations to your father and the picture of your grandparents crying? Made me cry too.
Dropped by via the Blogher sidebar and was brought to tears. What a special post! You were a great reminder to me to never give up on those planted seeds! Thank you so much for sharing!
